The exhibits are not simply placed alongside each other aw autonomous works of art or scattered images from the entries of an art encyclopaedia. They are rather arranged in chronological units, organically linked together, to compose o historical novel, the pages of which cover twelve centuries over the course of the display: a museological narrative of the religious, political and above all artistic activity of the most renowned pagan sanctuary and its oracle from the time of its foundation, which is lost in the mist of legend, down to the spread of Christianity.
